WCSC Thanks Dunkin Donuts Customers for $10,000 in Change

WCSC Thanks Dunkin Donuts Customers for $10,000 in Change
If you go into any of the three Dunkin Donuts restaurants in Windsor, you will see a change jar inscribed with the initials WCSC at the register. Over the last three years, the generous customers of Dunkin Donuts have deposited over $10,000 worth of change into those jars to help folks in need!

Windsor Community Service Council, an all volunteer 501(c)(3) organization, uses these and other donated funds to support Windsor's Fuel and Food Banks. All programs are for the benefit of Windsor residents. The Council extends a huge THANK YOU to all who have contributed and to Peg Grenier, Area Manager, for making it all possible.

Back in the summer of 2009, Peg Grenier, Dunkin Donuts Area Manager, called Windsor Social Services with an offer. The intended recipient of the change had decided not to pick it up. Peg had buckets (literally hundreds of pounds) of donated change in her office. She wanted it to stay in Windsor and asked how soon someone could come over and get it.

That first pick up resulted in a deposit of over $5,000 into WCSC's account. Since then, wonderful Windsor customers have dropped in another $5,000. So the next time you stop in for a great cup of coffee, please drop your spare change in. Every little bit really does help, and together we are making a big difference!
