WHOW Raffle Raises $6,100
WHOW Raffle raises $6,100 for the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank Windsor Houses of Worship (WHOW) organized a raffle that ran during April and May to benefit the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank. Three prizes were awarded on May 31. The first prize winner of a $500 Geissler?s gift card was Laureen Gosselin of East Windsor, the second prize winner of a $250 Stop & Shop gift card was Lynn Ricard of Windsor, and the third prize winner of a $100 Mobil Gas gift card was Diane Caron also of Windsor. Susan Foote, Chairwoman of WHOW, and Lisa Andersen, WHOW member and raffle organizer presented a check for $6,100 to Jane Garibay, President of the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank. ?We are very grateful to WHOW for organizing the raffle and we very much appreciate the donation. A lot of time and effort went into the raffle and I want to thank all the volunteers for their hard work and their passion to help their Windsor neighbors in need" said Garibay.

WHOW is comprised of members of various churches and the synagogue in Windsor and dedicates time towards helping those in need. For the past three years, they have organized a Fall Craft Fair to raise money for the food bank. This year, the raffle was held as the annual fundraiser instead of the Craft Fair. ?We are thrilled with the results of the raffle and know the money will benefit many,? said Susan Foote. Tickets were sold by volunteers and outside various locations, including Geissler?s, Stop & Shop, Bart?s, and the Shad Derby. WHOW expressed deep appreciation and thankfulness to everyone that supported the raffle through the purchase of a ticket. Congratulations to the winners.
